Visit with us the imposing citadel of Kuelap or Cuelap, important pre Inca fortress of one of the most important Amazon cultures of Peru. The Chachapoyas managed to settle in a citadel of more than 6 ha. of extension where they lived up to the arrival of Tupac Inca Yupanqui and that nowadays gives us an idea of its form of life and beliefs.
Start: 08:30 am / Finished: 17:00 hours.
Our tour initiates in the city of Chachapoyas at 05:30 am therefore we recommend to come one day earlier for to be able to rest and avoid mishaps. We will initiate our trip in our mobility for 1 hour doing a stop to be able to have a sight of the archaeological center of Macro that will give us some tracks of what we will see later in Kuelap.
After this brief stop we will continue in 10 more minutes up to the town of New Tingo where we will buy the tickets to tackle the cableway and will organize the lunch of the evening.
We will continue a few minutes more in the mobility up to the starting point of the cableway that will take us very close to Kuelap, the trip takes approximately 25 minutes up to the point of arrival where we will buy our entry to the citadel.
We will have to walk approximately 20 minutes more from the point of arrival of the cableway up to the citadel which we will visit for an average of 2 hours then to return to Malca (point of arrival) and so to tackle the comeback cableway to New Tingo where we will have lunch and then finally we will return Chachapoyas where we will come about 17:00 hrs.
