Come and witness the diversity of the Amazon Rainforest, where deep in the jungle you´ll come across monkeys, Cayman alligators, parrots and macaws. Learn about the medicinal properties of native plants and the secrets of life in the Amazon from a professional bilingual guide well-versed in the mysteries of the Amazon Rainforest and local natives
Depending on your arrival time we will pick you up from the airport or your Hotel in Iquitos to start the tour with a brief pedestrian city tour where we will visit the most important places in the city of Iquitos such as its Main Square, the Matriz church and others. After the city tour we will board our motor boat to go to our lodge crossing the majestic Amazon River (between the months of November to July the river bed reaches its maximum point and you can see floating houses).
Upon your arrival at the lodge we will assign your room to you after you have accommodated your luggage, you can tour the facilities and become familiar with the Amazon Rainforest. After lunch at the lodge we will start a guided walk to identify some species of animals and plants of the place.
At night we will have a night walk to appreciate some species of insects, batrachians and other animals that reign during the night.
Dinner and first night at the lodge.
We will start the second day sailing in canoe to observe birds in their natural habitat, including the only ruminant bird in the world, the Shansho or Hoatzin. After seeing some birds we will return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious breakfast.
After breakfast we will go to the community of Yaguas with whom we can live and be part of their customs among them the use of the blowgun, which is used to hunt birds and small animals which are consumed in their daily diet. We will return to the lodge for the typical lunch (self-service). After a short break we will have a recreational fishing trip in the Amazon River in which with some luck we can catch the piranha.
We will return to the lodge with the sunset through the tropical jungle with sounds of the place.
Dinner and second night at the lodge.
The third day we will start very early to go to the banks of the Amazon River and be able to navigate watching birds on Padre Island by canoe and the famous Victoria Regia which is the largest aquatic plant in the world.
We will return to the lodge to enjoy an Amazonian breakfast before sailing again on the waters of the Amazon to go in search this time of the gray and pink dolphins, the latter being a unique species in this area.
We will also visit a family that lives on the river bank who preserve some species such as anacondas, sloths, tortoises and others. In addition we can enjoy some aphrodisiac drinks and a delicious lunch.
At 3:00 pm we will return after picking up our belongings at the lodge to the city of Iquitos where we will drop you off at the airport or your Hotel as required.
