Dare to tour the highest ski resort in the world (5412 masl) that due to global warming is no longer possible to practice this sport but it is a perfect place to appreciate the Cordillera Real, Lake Titicaca and the high plateau in all its splendor .
Also during this tour you can walk through a valley whose surface resembles the Moon, an interesting place to walk and take incredible photos.
The walk to Chacaltaya and the Valley of the Moon, begins at 08:00 with the pick up of your accommodation in La Paz (center only), in our tourist transport we will go to Chacaltaya which was considered as the highest ski station in the world and that unfortunately due to global warming now you can not practice this sport but instead has become a privileged place to appreciate Lake Titicaca, the Cordillera Real and all the highlands at its best.
It will take us about 2 hours to reach the refuge in Chacaltaya and if you wish you can make the ascent of the last 200 m to the top of this place, for this we recommend you acclimatize before in La Paz and bring some coca leaves or candy.
After appreciating the incredible landscape that this area offers, we will head south towards the Valley of the Moon, whose name the inhabitants gave it because its surface resembles the moon with desolate landscapes, eroded rocks, pinnacles and some cactus.
Definitely an interesting place to take pictures and feel like Neil Armstrong!
We will visit this warm weather valley for about 20 minutes accompanied by our guide before returning to the city of La Paz where we will be arriving around 4:00 pm
