Manu is considered the capital of Biodiversity, this trip offers us the unique opportunity to walk through jungle trails discovering a great variety of plant and animal life.

Come and enjoy the sights and sounds of Monkey Island, Lake Sandoval, and macaws. During this trip in the deep jungle we will go in search of the giant caimans and otters, caymans, piranhas and paiches.

Itinerary of Fascinating Jungle

Day 1 - Cusco – Puerto Maldonado – Monkey Island

We will start this adventure by picking you up at your arrival in Puerto Maldonado (the biodiversity capital of Peru), first we'll visit the market and explore the city. Lunch will be in the city or, in our eco-lodge (Hostel), this will depend on the time of your arrival. At the port we will board a motorized boat to start the trip to the Eco-lodge; We will take approximately 1 hour of travel along Madre de Dios River. You will be assigned to your respective bungalow, according to your reservation.
The first excursion we will take is to the island of the monkeys, where we will find a great variety of monkeys, including black spider monkeys, capuchins, lions, monkeys, and more.
We will return to our Eco-lodge for dinner and at night we will have the option of participating in nocturnal activities such as the caimaneo.

Day 2 - Sandoval Lake

After a delicious breakfast we will go on a trek through the virgin jungle, it will take us about an hour and a half to reach Lake Sandoval, where we will appreciate a number of plants and animals. Plants like orchids, and platanillos that grow from 3 to 5 meters and have bright red flowers. Animals like the giant otter, the black and white alligator, we can also see a variety of birds. We will see some fish including piranhas and some paiches, which grow up to two meters long, one of the largest freshwater fish.

We will make a stop for lunch, and we will be able to refresh ourselves in a safe way in the waters of the lake.


We will return to the Eco-lodge for dinner and again we will have the optional nocturnal activities.

Day 3 - Taricaya Project

This day in the morning we will enjoy a typical breakfast of the area, and then we will go down the river in route to the Taricaya Project it will take aproximately an hour to get there. We will arrive at the Taricaya Project where we will have the opportunity to appreciate a great variety of animals such as Sajino, turtles, wildcats, macaws and more. We will have lunch and start a walk along the paths of the forest and we will pass a suspension bridge (100m long and 60m high) in order to learn more about native animals and medicinal plants.
We will return to the Eco-lodge, in the same as the previous nights you will have the option to take a well-deserved rest or to participate in the nocturnal activities.

Day 4 - Trip Around The lodge

After a nutritious breakfast we will explore the surroundings of our Hostel, observing local plants and animal life, this will last approximately 3 hours. We will enjoy a delicious lunch before returning to the lodge, then we will have free all afternoon of this day.

Day 5 - Parrot Clay Lick – Puerto Maldonado

On this last day of our adventure we will leave very early by boat to the parrot colpa, a wall of clay rich in salts and minerals, where hundreds of green parrots congregate in the early mornings to feed on this clay. We will take our breakfast in the middle of nature and appreciate this great natural spectacle for an hour and a half, before returning to the hostel and get ready to leave to the city of Puerto Maldonado.
