Itinerary of Manu National Park 5 Days

Day 1: Cusco - Cloud Forest - Pilcopata

We will start our adventure towards the Manu, picking you up from your Hotel in the city of Cusco (center only), aboard our bus we will go towards the south of the city going through picturesque towns until arriving at the town of Paucartambo. On the way we will make a stop in the sector of Ninamarca where we can see circular constructions called "Chullpas" whose funerary function basically since within them the old settlers placed their deceased.

We will continue our journey down to the cloud forest or cloud because of the presence of fog which will give you the impression of being above the clouds. In this forest there lives a large number of unique animals, among them the Cock of the Rocks, which is the national bird of Peru and also with some luck we will be able to appreciate the only bear of South America - Oso de Anteojos - that lives in this place like other species of birds, mammals, reptiles and others.

At dusk we will arrive at our hostel in Pilcopata where we will spend the night.

Day 2: Pilcopata - Jungle

The second day of our adventure we will visit the areas near the lodge in Pilcopata, we will be able to walk towards a viewpoint near the lodge from which we can appreciate the beauty that the Peruvian Amazon offers.

We will rest in the hostel this day.

Day 3: Hostel - Collpa de Loros - Laguna Machu Wasi - Hostel

We will start this day early with a delicious breakfast and then on board a boat we will head towards the Green Parrot Lick, where each morning these birds are directed to extract the minerals needed in their diet.

We will continue our journey to the Machu Wasi lagoon where we can see some monkeys, reptiles, birds, dwarf alligators, groups of turtles and insects.

After visiting this beautiful place we will return to the hostel where we will spend the night.

Day 4: Hostel - Aguas Calientes - Shintuya Community - Hostel

This day we will sail on the waters of the Madre de Dios River, on the way we will be able to appreciate a great variety of birds such as: herons, parrots, oropendolas, garrapateros and gallinazos.

During this journey we will pass through several colonial communities that live on the banks of the river, among them the Shintuya, which we will visit knowing their customs and way of life.

After a break in this community we will sail downstream to the hot springs of Aguas Calientes which has pools of medicinal waters that are very good for treating arthritis and muscle pain.

We will return to the hostel where we will spend the night.

Day 5: Hostel - Atalaya - Cusco

Our last day in the Amazon, we will remove our belongings from the lodge to board a boat to go to the port of Atalaya where the bus will be waiting for us to return to the city of Cusco where we will be arriving at approximately 7:00 p.m.
