Visit the floating islands of the Uros, platforms constructed of totora and learn about way of life of its inhabitants, where you will see how the lake and its totora are the sustenance of all the aspects of their lives providing the material for houses, transport and even food.
In this tour you will have the option to decide whether to do it in the morning or in the afternoon. Depending on the schedule you choose we will pick you up from your hotel around 8:45 am or 4pm to leave the port of Puno about 45 minutes later.
After 30 minutes by boat we will arrive to the islands of the Uros, a millenary town formed of small islands made of totora with small houses also made of totora, where we will visit 2 of these examples, each for about 30 minutes. Here we can appreciate the traditional crafts and customs of these communities based on hunting, weaving and aquatic life with the joint explanation between our guide and the local family. In this adventure you will even have the option of taking a stroll in the typical boats of totora used in this area.
After 3 hours of the tour we will return to the port of Puno, from where we will transfer you back to your hotel.
