Itinerary of Rurrenabaque Pampas

Day 1: Rurrenabaque - Pampas - Lodge

Our adventure to Las Pampas begins in Rurrenabaque at 09:00 am, at which time we will depart to the town of Santa Rosa del Yacuma, which is about 3 hours and a half by car. During this journey we can appreciate the beauty of the area and its dense vegetation as well as some animals such as herons, sloths and others.

We will arrive in Santa Rosa at midday and we can enjoy our lunch, after lunch we will board our boat to go to the hostel where we will spend the next 2 nights.

During the boat trip to the lodge we can appreciate a variety of whistling monkeys, nocturnal and spider monkeys as well as some capybaras, toucans, long-toads and toads.

At around 6:00 p.m. we will be arriving at our hostel where we can leave our things and have a welcome drink.

After settling in the rooms we will go to an elevated part of the hostel to appreciate the sunset that for the colors that it shows is a spectacle that you can not miss.

We will return to the lodge to enjoy a buffet dinner and then we will sail on the river in search of nocturnal animals among which the alligators stand out.

Day 2 - Pampas

Our second day in Las Pampas will start with a buffet breakfast, then walk through Las Pampas in search of reptiles which inhabit small lakes and rivers of the place, among the snakes with some luck we can see some anaconda recognized as one of the largest on the planet.

We will return at noon to be able to have lunch and rest for a moment in the hostel.

After a short break we will embark on the Yacuma River, this time we will go in search of pink dolphins with whom if you wish you can swim, this activity is safe since these animals are quite friendly.

We will return to the lodge for a small snack and then go to a viewpoint much higher than the first day to appreciate the sunset again.

We will return to the lodge at the end of this activity to have dinner and rest.

Day 3: Lodge - Santa Rosa - Rurrenabaque

Our last day in the hostel we will start with a buffet breakfast and then at 08:00 am we will sail in the Yacuma River this time in search of birds like: eagles and toucans, also some sloth bears as well as the vegetation of the place among which highlights the so-called Victoria Reina, which is one of the largest aquatic plants in the world.

Already in a fishing area we can relax fishing some piranhas which will be returned to the river as respect and preservation of nature.

We will return to the lodge to have lunch and collect our things and sail back to Santa Rosa where we will be waiting for our mobility that will take us to Rurrenabaque where the tour ends.

Recommendations

Rurrenabaque located 229 masl north of the department of La Paz and west of the department of Beni, average annual temperature 27ºC. It has a population of 14 thousand inhabitants. Rurrenabaque is the gateway to the Madidi National Park, Pilón Lajas Reserve and the Bolivian Pampas.
