Itinerary of Usaca Oasis

Itinerary

Feel the adrenaline rush of off-roading along giant desert dunes in a sandbuggy and sandboarding down their slopes. During your adventure, you will be able to visit Cahuachi, the former religious center of the Nazca civilization, and Estaquería, which offers the clue to the fabrication of the Nazca mummies. Gain priceless insight into the civilization which created the famous Nazca Lines, and enjoy an unforgettable desert adventure at the same time!

We can pick you up at your hotel in Nazca at 7am for a morning excursion, or at 1pm for an afternoon excursion. We’ll depart for a lively trip in our dune buggies (4WD), departing along the Nazca Valley’s left bank towards Cahuachi Archeological Complex to explore its temples, streets and plazas.

We’ll then continue on, passing the farming village of Tambo de Perro along the way to Usaca Valley, where the Nazca River meets the Pajonal Rivers. The area’s giant sand dunes are ideal for sand boarding. After learning a few techniques, you’ll try it out for yourself for a couple of hours.

Upon our return to Nazca we’ll stop at another ancient site, Estaqueria, Place of the Stakes, where experts theorize that bodies were staked out to dry after death. We’ll drop you back off at your hotel in Nazca around noon for morning excursions, or around 6pm for afternoon excursions. (The trip lasts approximately five hours in total.)
