Itinerary of Tour Dolphin 2D / 1N

Day 1 - Iquitos – Lodge

We will pick you up from the airport or your hotel in Iquitos according to what you request to start with a brief city tour through the main streets and attractions of Iquitos. After the city tour we will board our boat to enter the Amazon jungle to our lodge Cumaceba Amazon which is about 35 km from the city of Iquitos.

Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be greeted with a drink made from some seasonal fruit and then be able to accommodate your luggage in the reserved rooms and then be able to walk around the facilities knowing about the local flora and fauna.

After lunch we will embark again, this time to go in search of the gray and pink river dolphins which can only be seen in this part of the Amazon. With some luck we can appreciate these beautiful animals.

After our search we will return to the lodge making a stop before with a local family, which preserves some species of animals such as: anacondas, sloths, turtles and others.

We will return to the lodge with the sunset over the Amazon, a visual spectacle that is really worth seeing at least once, we will make a nocturnal walk to appreciate insects and batrachians that reign at night.

Finally we will enjoy a delicious dinner accompanied by local tales and legends.

Day 2 - Amazonas – Iquitos

We will wake up very early this day to go see some birds among which stands out the Hoatzin (Shansho) which is the only ruminant bird in the world, known for its pestilent smell which keeps them safe from predators.

We will return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious breakfast and then go to the community of Yaguas who preserve their customs, clothing, dialect and way of life intact. You will have the opportunity to have fun making use of the blowguns that are used by the Yaguas to hunt birds and small monkeys.

We will return to the lodge for lunch and finally board the boat to return to the city of Iquitos where we will leave you (at your hotel or airport as requested).
