On Rurrenabaque

Rurrenabaque is a small town on the banks of the Beni River famous for its trails that lead to the rain forests and pampas of northern Bolivia. Near the main square, in the Plaza 2 de Febrero, is the church of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria. A path leads to the viewpoint of La Cruz, where the views are impressive. On the other side of the river is the town of San Buenaventura, with the Tacana Cultural Center, which houses a small museum and indigenous crafts.

Madidi National Park

One of the protected areas of greatest ecological and biogeographical relevance on the planet. According to National Geographic, the Madidi National Park is listed as one of the 20 most important tourist destinations in the world.

Here there are 867 species of birds (85% of the country's avifauna), 156 species of mammals, 84 species of amphibians, 71 species of reptiles and 192 species of fish, as well as very diverse flora in which 1,865 species of higher plants and 2,873 probable species.

Quirky aquatic species can be observed, such is the case of piranhas, freshwater sting rays and in some areas, the freshwater pink dolphin. It should be noted that in the park there are 40 species of vertebrates, endemic or unique.

There are several native indigenous communities settled ancestrally in the area or historically related to it and that currently share a vision of tourism as a development and conservation strategy.
