The Inca Trail to Machupicchu is the best known and most popular hike among tourists. The total distance walked is 45 km and takes 4 days, including a 1 day visit to Machu picchu.
Hiking between breathtaking scenery with views of snow capped mountains, the cloud forest and stunningly preserved ruins is an unforgettable experience.
We will start our tour to the Inca Trail for 4 days with pick up from your hotel in the city of Cusco, between 06:30 to 07:00 am to transfer us to our tourist mobility to Km 82, passing through the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas and their unique landscapes. At Km 82 we will be able to enjoy the first lunch included in our services.
Once every one of the members of the group are registered at the checkpoint, with their respective identity document (passport, cedula, or identity card with which the reservation is made), we will begin our hike on the Inca Trail, accompanied by porters known as “Huayruros” by poncho color red-take own of the inhabitants of the area.
We will walk through fertile valleys accompanied by an amazing view of the nevado Veronica and the Urubamba River until we reach an old inca city of Llactapata which is located at the top of the valley which made it perfect to have control of the area. After a brief guided from this place and walk through it we will continue our hike for 1 hour and a half to reach our first camp in Wayllabamba, here we will enjoy a coca tea and dinner at 19:00 hrs.
We will start the second day of our tour at 06:00 am to be able to enlist our backpacks and took a shower before enjoying a delicious breakfast in our dining tent. This day will be the heavier of the journey as we ascend from the village of Wayllabamba village (3000 masl) to the pass of Warmihuañusca (the dead woman) to 4200 meters above sea level, it will take approximately 4 to 5 hours depending on the weather and the pace of the group.
From Warmihuañusca we will have a privileged view of all of the Sacred Valley and the Urubamba Valley; we will continue our trek, this time down by 1 hour and a half to reach our second camp at Pacaymayu. The lunch and dinner we will enjoy in this place, leaving us the afternoon free to enjoy the place and its landscapes.
We start this third day at 06:00 am with a time for personal hygiene and pack the backpacks before enjoying breakfast in our dining tent. During the breakfast the guide will give us the briefing of our activities of the day.
We start our trek through a stretch of the inca trail perfectly conserved, this day we will be able to appreciate and visit the archaeological sites of Runkurakay and Sayacmarka important citadels of the inca period.
We will enjoy lunch on route surrounded by the imposing mountains and then continue to Phuyupatamarka (town above the clouds) from where we have a spectacular view of the snow-capped peaks of the peruvian andes. We will begin the descent by an average of 2 hours to Wiñayhuayna which is without a doubt one of the centres best-preserved archaeological and which is surrounded by a lush tropical forest in which you can see a variety of plants including some orchids.In Wiñayhuayna we will have available the use of a shower with warm water for a cost not to exceed $ 3 dollars.
In the evening we will enjoy a delicious dinner and there will be a collection of tips for the porters that accompanied us throughout the tour.
Our fourth and last day of the tour will begin at 04:00 am enjoy a delicious breakfast, and readying everything to make our income to the enigmatic citadel of Machu Picchu.
We will depart at 05:30 am approximately going through the tropical rainforest to Inti Punku (Sun gate) where we arrive after 1 hour and a half of hiking. We will be entering Machu Picchu at 08:00 am where after leaving our backpacks in a store we will have a guided visit of 2 hours for the most important places of the citadel.
Complete the guided we will have free time to explore and photograph the place by ourselves or visit Huayna Picchu Mountain if you've booked it in advance.
During the guided visit will be a meeting point and time in the town of Aguas Calientes to board the return train to Ollantaytambo with no major drawbacks. In Ollantaytambo to our arrival by train we will be waiting for our bus to return finally to the city of Cusco.
